Usage : Kindly add TiFill during the addition of fillers in the formulation, which gives it enough time to disperse evenly throughout the formulation. TiFill usually replaces TiO2 in 70%:30% ratio of TiO2 : tiON.
As there are variety of formulation, one has tailor made the usage content, the additional quantity of tiON will increase the whiteness and gloss. Secondly tiON can be used to enhance the performance of the Polymer, whereby if you need to manufacture Premium Ultra White finishes, instead of reducing the TiO2 Content by adding tiON, you can make a new formulation using tiON to create long lasting Protective Coating, where tiON will reduce your usage of expensive additives required to attain these soft touch feeling of the polymer. Benefits of Using tiON Decelerate Fading Effect – Due to tiON high Brightness and Whiteness index, it helps keeping the colour of the polymer white longer than other fillers.
Non Corrosive – tiON is non reactive (inert) to mostly all the acids so it improves the anti corrosion properties of the Polymer and can be used in anticorrosive coatings. tiON can be used against an non corrosive and non reactive opacifying pigments, which are currently being used in the market to partially replace TiO2.
Concept : tiON works on the following concept… The effect of opacity is the sum of three physical phenomena, refraction, reflection and diffraction of light. The Diffraction is related to the size of the waves of light in motion. When a wave of light passes next to a particle, it trends to bend after this passage. Taking the above theory into consideration tiON was developed, so that when particles of light refract from the particles of tiON they are bend after this passage. The interaction of tiON particle and that of TiO2 is of high importance. As in the Polymer formulation the hiding is achieved from interaction of the Fillers, Binder and TiO2. tiON helps in reducing the difference in RI of the Pigment and Extenders which becomes evident due to binders. tiON helps reducing the TiO2 usage because it reduces the crowding of the large particle extenders, which in turn reduces the crowding of pigmet particles into voids. This leads to an improved pigment packing in the overall Polymer formulation.
